The Huntsville Eagles host the Gentry Pioneers tonight at Eagle Stadium in their first conference game of the season.

Joseph Zacharias tenBerge, 35, of Huntsville; passed away Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at home. 

Nick Coulter, head coach of the Huntsville High School cross country team, said his runners “showed out” at the Elkins Invitational on Sept. 9 after a “rough” first meet on Sept. 2 at the Shiloh Saints Invitational in Springdale. However, the team is looking forward to participating in the Berryville Bobcat Back 40 Saturday.

The Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets golf team will play in the 2023 State Golf Tournament at Mountain Ranch Golf Course in West Side Greer’s Ferry on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

A love for physicality and drive keep Huntsville High School senior Bentley Pearrow busy. As middle guard for the Huntsville Eagles varsity football team, he enjoys tackling his opponents. Off of the field, you can find him welding for Skills USA, shooting trap for Huntsville High, or chopping wood for his firewood business. 

The Huntsville Eagles have a chance to right the ship, and Friday’s opponent could provide that opportunity.

The Fifth Annual Memorial Rodeo to benefit Cowboy for Tyler, in honor of the late Tyler Smith of Huntsville, is set for Saturday at Sky High Arena. To enhance the rodeo’s mission of encouraging youth in rodeo, a free ticket will be provided to each student in the Huntsville School District, JoAnne Whisenhunt, Smith’s mother, said.

Huntsville Police responded to a one-vehicle accident at the corner of East Dogwood Drive and Dogwood Street Friday at approximately 12:20 p.m.

Huntsville firefighters responded to a report of a fire at O’Reilly Auto Parts Friday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.

The Madison County Quorum Court took a step toward making a new county jail a reality Monday night by approving an ordinance authorizing a bond purchase agreement with Stephens, Inc., that will fund construction of the facility beginning in November. The court unanimously voted in favor of the ordinance after its third reading by title only.

William Franklin Foster, 77, of Witter, died Friday, Sept. 15, 2023, at home. 

Nancy Lorene Conklin, 53, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, at home. 

Marlin Lea Dammann Beauchamp, 86 of Huntsville, passed away Sept. 17, 2023, in Fayetteville.
