Da’Shawn Chairs of Elkins captured first place on Feb. 3 in the 60-meter dash at the Class 3A Arkansas Indoor Track Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.

In the first round of the 4A-1 District Tournament Huntsville played Berryville winning 54 to 38.

Huntsville will host the 1A-1 Regional Basketball Tournament beginning this week at the AT and Georgie Mae Smith Activity Center, 400 Cain Ave., in Huntsville.

Both Kingston senior high teams played Yellville on Feb. 6. The final score of the Sr. Girls game was Kingston 59, Yellville 53. 

The St. Paul Saints got a little bit of a break this past week in the basketball season, playing one game against the Thaden Barn Owls from Bentonville. 

The Huntsville High School Lady Eagles bowling team finished 12th overall at the State Championship in Little Rock on Feb. 8. Cedric Comer also represented the boys team and finished 38th out of 115 male bowlers.

The final week of January was extremely busy for Saints basketball teams. 

On Feb. 2, Kingston traveled to Deer to play their last conference game of the season. 

Huntsville was invaded by the first-place Farmington Lady Cardinals, surrendering a crushing 68-13 conference 4A-1 loss.

Friday night was a busy night and the gym was packed at Kingston.

Returning to basketball at St. Paul last week after the snow, the senior boys suffered a loss to New School on Wednesday, Jan. 24.

Energetic with an immense work ethic, Kingston High School senior Chism Floyd has had a non-traditional high school experience as a home-schooled player. 

The Lady Eagles kicked off a difficult week traveling to Prairie Grove to pick up a 48-34 loss.

The Huntsville High School Eagles bowling team found success in the 4A West Conference Tournament at the Rogers Bowling Center on Monday, with the girls edging out Elkins to qualify for the State Championship in Little Rock on Feb. 8 and Cedric Comer qualifying for state as an individual from the boys team.
