At the end of the awards ceremony, Paul Vanderpool approached event organizer Jason Yates at the gazebo, carrying a metal sculpture of a pterodactyl, and presented the “Working Bird” Award to Glynna Markley, Cruz’n the Square treasurer, for all her years of work on the car show.
The “Working Bird Award” is a bird made out of a shovel and various other equipment parts.
“She’s the brains of this operation. She takes care of all the money. She does a fantastic job of it,” Yates said.
“I drawed her name out of a hat,” Vanderpool said, jokingly, adding, “But I just put her name in the hat.”
“That is an awesome award right there. That took some time to make that’s for sure,” said announcer
“We sure appreciate everybody coming out and we sure hope to see everybody again next year.
