Huntsville School District has received more positive feedback than complaints after transitioning to a four-day school week in August, giving students and staff a day off on Monday.

Mikel Dee Shepherd, 48, of Elkins, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024, at his home. 

Dixie Lorene Howard, age 97, of Huntsville, passed away on Oct. 12, 2024. 

Junior Dale Ingram, 84, of Eureka Springs; passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Mercy Hospital, Berryville. 

Bobby Keith Sliger, 88, of Witter; passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2024, at Washington Regional Medical Center, in Fayetteville. 

No runner other than those from first place Huntsville  and second place West Fork cracked the top 10 in the boys 1A-4A Division 5K run at the Prairie Grove Invitational Cross Country meet on Saturday. 

Huntsville lost to Prairie Grove 3-1 on Oct. 8, but rebounded to sweep Green Forest  on Thursday in the last week of 4A-1 Conference volleyball play.
