There were 25 teams in the tournament, and Huntsville finished as 10U champions in the Washington County Civic League with a season record of 12-1.

Dylan Hurt, the new head baseball coach and assistant football coach for the Huntsville Eagles, said he will do anything he can to help his players become successful on the field and off.

Members of the Huntsville Trap Team will compete in the 2024 Youth Shooting Sports state championships in Jacksonville after qualifying in regionals May 18-19.

Football Hall of Famer Tommy Tice, who was the athletic director and head football coach at Huntsville  High School from 2011-2015 and is the third-winningest coach in Arkansas prep football history, is coming out of retirement to coach at Farmington this season.

Retiring head Eagles baseball coach Greg Harris has been selected as an assistant coach in the Arkansas Activities Association All-Star baseball game, which will be held June 20-21 in Conway.

The Huntsville Eagles football team is getting a May workout this week as part of spring training, which will likely wrap up on Friday, head coach Eric Henderson said.

Kolton Reynolds, a 2022 graduate of Huntsville High School and an outfielder for the Crowder  (Mo.) College Roughrider, has been named Region 16 Player of the Year.

Jake Roddy of Huntsville will be riding bulls during Saturday’s Spurrin’ Sky High rodeo event, which is presented by his brother Logan’s 3 Ring Rodeo Company. It will be Jake’s second time riding in Logan’s Spurs and Cleats Tour, following his participation in the April 6 show in Bentonville. Jake said that show was packed with fans, and he hopes and expects Huntsville fans to turn out Saturday at Sky High Arena.

Professional bull riding will be on display Saturday at Sky High Arena when 3 Ring Rodeo Company presents Spurrin’ Sky High beginning at 7 p.m.

The Elkins Elks senior track team competed on April 30 in the 3A State Championship in Jessieville.

The Kingston Yellow Jackets as well as the St. Paul Saints competed on April 29 in the 1A State Championships in Quitman on April 29.
