GREEN FOREST – The Huntsville Eagles overcame both adversity and a determined Tigers’ team Friday to pull out a 45-41 win in the 4A-1 Conference.

The public is invited to a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday to officially open the Huntsville School District’s AT & Georgia Mae Smith Activity Center, located at 400 Cain Ave.

Tonight Huntsville travels to Green Forest (1-7, 0-5) to battle the Tigers in 4A-1 action.

The Elkins Elks beat Ozark 48-21 on Friday to remain unbeaten in the 4A-1 Conference.

Elly Harriman is one busy senior at Huntsville High School. When it comes to sports, she plays forward and post for the Lady Eagles basketball team, middle hitter for the volleyball team, and middle infielder for the softball team. When it comes to school, she is vice president of the Student Council, a member of the National Honor Society (NHS), a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and participates in Unified Sports. 

The Elkins girls finished second on Monday at the 3A-1 District cross country meet in Bergman.

Farmington beat Huntsville 3-1 in the 4A-Northwest Conference tournament last week, ending the Lady Eagles’ season one win shy of making the state tournament.

Senior Amos Mayes did everything possible Friday to make sure the Huntsville Eagles won their first football game of the season.

The Kingston Sr. Girls on Oct. 19 played Viola in the Bobby D. Hulse Memorial Classic tournament at Norfork, taking the win with the final score Kingston 56 and Viola 51.

The Huntsville Eagles host the Berryville Bobcats (1-6, 0-4) at Eagle Stadium tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Junior quarterback Dizzy Dean threw four touchdown passes and classmate Da’Shawn Chairs ran for three touchdowns as the Elkins Elks blasted Green Forest 56-0 in 4A-1 Conference football on Friday.

Huntsville High School Senior Emily Smith lives and breathes volleyball. As right side hitter for the Lady Eagles Varsity Volleyball team, she is versatile playing both offense and defense. Off of the court, you can find her delving into her favorite books, writing, and taking college courses.

Huntsville’s Averie Dunn claimed the individual title Saturday, while the Kingston girls won the team title at the Huntsville Eagles Invitational Cross Country meet in Mitchusson Park.

Huntsville downed Ozark 3-0 on Monday in the 4A-Northwest District volleyball tournament in Prairie Grove.

LINCOLN – Junior quarterback Drew Moore threw for 334 yards and six touchdowns Friday as the Wolves rolled over Huntsville 49-21 in 4A-1 Conference football action.

Junior quarterback Dizzy Dean on Friday threw five touchdown passes as Elkins rolled over Berryville 56-7 in the 4A-1 Conference.

Hailing from a family of football players, it’s only natural that Huntsville High School senior Phillip Litterell is a sportsman. On Friday nights this fall, you can see him playing wide receiver and cornerback for the Huntsville Eagles football team. In the off-season, you can catch him mentoring kids and coaching pee wee football. 

Huntsville High sophomore Averie Dunn on Monday finished first in mid-sized schools and second overall in the Prairie Grove Tigers Invitational cross country meet.

Marcus Brandenburg won the Booger County Bass Club tournament Saturday on Beaver Lake.

Huntsville defeated Berryville last Thursday in 4A-Northwest volleyball at the Charles H. Berry Gymnasium.
