Parker’s influence lingers long after final buzzer sound

Coach Mike Parker, who turned Kingston’s boys basketball program into a perennial contender, will be inducted into the Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame on Jan. 23. Parker, whose team at Jasper ranked No. 1 in the state among Class 1A schools, said his first thought when notified he had been selected was, “I’m not worthy.”
