Huntsville High School will host a wrestling camp on Saturday at the Charles H. Berry Gymnasium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Elkins High School athletes competed at the Class 3A State Track and Field Meet at Ashdown on May 6 and turned out one state championship relay team.

Kingston senior Caleb Parker signed a national letter of intent with the U of A - Northark men’s golf team.

Both the Huntsville High School boys and girls soccer teams struggled through a scoreless week as April turned into May.

The 2025 Elkins High School Football Team was recognized on the floor of the Arkansas House of Representatives and took a group photo at the State Capitol grounds with Rep. Chad Puryear (R-Hindsville) last month.

St. Paul High School track and field athletes won the second place trophy at the 1A-4 District Track and Field Meet on April 28 with Lucas Maloney winning the individual high-point award.

The Huntsville School District is looking to fill two vacancies in head coaching positions at the high school following the resignations of wrestling coach Matt Gibson on April 15 and head football coach Eric Henderson on April 21. Gibson was also an assistant football coach.

Huntsville High School earned a season-ending sweep in its softball series with Berryville winning at home, 11-0, on April 30, and holding on to claim a 16-14 victory in a May 1 away game. That concluded the season for the Lady Eagles with no district tournament this year.

Huntsville High School swept its baseball series with Berryville, winning at home, 17-0, on April 30, and winning, 7-1, in a May 1 away game to end the season.

Senior Night for the Huntsville soccer teams has been postponed multiple times and will be played on Thursday against Clarksville at Eagle Stadium.

Kingston and Jasper’s track and field team did not go quietly in their last combined  District 1A-1 West meet while preparing for state. Both the girls and boys teams recorded multiple first place finishes at Garrison Stadium in Harrison.

The Huntsville High School baseball team defeated Gravette, 3-2, in an April 20 game, but split the series with an 11-5 loss at home on April 21.

Gravette swept Huntsville in a 4A-1 Conference softball away (13-5) and home (16-0) series last week, and the Lady Eagles won, 11-0, against West Fork on April 23.

The Huntsville and Elkins senior high teams competed at Gravette on April 16 in the Lion Relays, while Kingston competed in the Senior Goblin Rosson Relays hosted by Harrison on April 18.

The Huntsville softball squad suffered back-to-back run-rule losses to Prairie Grove in 4A-1 games on April 13-14.

The Huntsville varsity soccer teams avoided a sweep by Gentry last week when the boys pulled off a dramatic 3-2 win in the 39th minute of the match on April 17.

Huntsville split its baseball series with Prairie Grove, winning at home, 17-7, on April 13, and losing, 7-6, in an April 14 away game.

The St. Paul baseball squad suffered blowouts to County Line and Mulberry, then produced 10 runs in its third game, a 26-10 loss to Western Yell County as the school revived its program.

As St. Paul Track and Field Coach/Principal Bruce Dunlap looks over the Saints’ boy’s roster, he noted the athletes are playing two spring sports.
