The Elkins Elks fell to the Harding Academy Wildcats 41-27 Friday night in a semifinals playoff game at home in front of a crowd estimated to be more than 1,000. Elkins entered the game on a 12-game streak of home wins, its regular season as well as its 4A-1 conference records both unblemished. The Elks concluded their 2023 run 13-1 overall.

Since she could dribble a ball, Kingston High School senior Rilee Pittman has been in the game. She proves herself on the court as a small forward and power forward for the Kingston Lady Yellow Jackets basketball team. When her feet are off of the court, they can be found pounding the ground as part of the Kingston Yellow Jackets track team. When not participating in athletics, Pittman helps out on her family’s cattle farm while raising her own sheep on the farm. In her free time, she enjoys hunting.

When not on the court, she is a competitive dancer for the 407 dance company in Huntsville, as well as a dance instructor. In school, she maintains high grades as a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and has been a member of the Class Council for several years.

Playing point guard and post for the Kingston Yellowjackets Girls Basketball team, she dribbles and passes like no other on the court. To help gain more skills for her main sport, you can find her running for cross-country and track. In the classroom, she participates in the Future Farmers of America (FFA) and the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
