Huntsville picked up wins against Ozark and Lincoln, sandwiched around a loss to Dardanelle last week.

Huntsville wrestlers saw their first competition with four boys and three girls placing in a JV tournament hosted by Springdale Har-Ber on Nov. 22.

Huntsville lost to Ozark in a conference game, then defeated Mountainburg, and lost to Lincoln in boys basketball action last week.

Elkins broke away from a 7-7 first quarter tie by outscoring Mena 28-3 in the second and third quarters to secure a 35-16 playoff victory Friday.

The Huntsville Lady Eagles traveled to West Fork and won the Duel in the Dome tournament last week.

Madison County Cyclist mountain bike team, coached by Ashton and Jamie Adams, competed at the state competition for National Interscholastic Cycle Association (NICA-AR) at Centennial Park in Fayetteville on October 27. 

Elkins set the tone less than a minute into the game with Brooks Williams returning a blocked punt 25 yards, the first of two first quarter defensive touchdowns.

Kingston hosted Huntsville on Nov. 14. The first game of the night was the junior boys B game. Kingston won in sudden death by one point.

The Huntsville boys basketball team kicked off their 2024-2025 season by hosting Valley Springs in a nonconference game and winning 63-37 on Nov. 12.

The St. Paul junior girls played a tough game on Oct. 22. They scored 22 points all together against Fayetteville Christian. But Christian won this battle against the St. Paul Saints. The top scores on the Saints were Skyla Waters and Jymikka Cotton.

Congratulations to the Kingston girls cross country team for taking first place in the 1A State Cross Country meet for the fourth year in a row. Congratulations to the boys for placing fourth. We are proud of all of you. 

Huntsville kicked off its basketball season with the annual Maroon and White game at the AT & Georgia Mae Smith Activity Center on Saturday.

Kingston won its fourth straight girl state cross country championship Saturday, while the Yellowjacket boys finished fourth overall at the Class 1A State meet. 

Huntsville played Elkins better than some 4A-1 teams, but the result showed the Elks’ consistency as they ran the conference table with a 42-0 win at Eagle Stadium on Friday.

Huntsville competed at the 4A-1 Conference Cross Country Meet on Oct. 29 at Gravette as tune-up and qualifier for the Class 4A State meet on  Nov. 7 at Hot Springs.

Huntsville may be poised to turn the corner with its girls basketball program as this year’s team begins the next stage coming out of the shadow of a living legend.

The junior girls played a tough game on Oct. 22. They scored 22 two points all together against Fayetteville Christian.

Huntsville won’t have much height, but boys basketball coach River Gosvener plans to have the Eagles get after opponents and play fast.
