Huntsville swept Pea Ridge, 25-10, 25-9, 25-16, on Sept. 23 to maintain a tie with Prairie Grove for first place in the 4A-1 volleyball standings.

Elkins (3-1, 1-0 4A-1) opened 4A-1 Conference play with a 28-point first quarter eruption on the way to a  49-6  win over Gentry (3-1, 0-1 4A-1) on Friday.

A twist of fate, involving the weather and postponement of the district golf meet, threw a monkey wrench into Huntsville’s hopes to win a team title or send a team to state.

Wyatt Ingram returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and Huntsville jumped into the lead of the 4A-1 Conference as league play began Friday.

Huntsville’s last cross country meet was at the Elkins Invitational on Sept. 13. The Eagles placed second in the boys 4A-5A team standings with a score of 40 behind Farmington with 21.

Huntsville’s boys golf team came into this week looking to maintain its consistency. Coach Brian Garrett noted the boys have been playing well.

Siloam Springs won the Berryville Bobcat Back 40 boy’s team title with a score of 23, followed by second place Gravette with a score of 33, third place Haas Hall of Bentonville with a score of 90, and fourth place Prairie Grove scoring 105.

Elkins (2-1) rebounded from a disappointing 14-10 loss against Dardanelle on Sept. 5 and routed Harding Academy, 44-14, in non-conference football at home Friday.

Huntsville’s (1-2) played well in all facets of the its Homecoming game, romping over West Fork (0-3), 50-0, as the Eagles triumphed on Friday.

The season script flipped for the St. Paul Cross Country team while competing in the Clarksville Cross Country Kickoff meet on Sept. 9.

A mini cheer camp for grades Kindergarten through sixth will be held Oct. 7-9 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. daily at the Watson Primary and Intermediate schools’ garden area with a performance scheduled for Oct. 10 at halftime of the varsity football game.

Huntsville’s High School’s boys golf team defeated Shiloh Christian for the second time this season to win a meet, capturing a Sept. 11 championship at the Dogwood Golf Club in Bella Vista hosted by Gravette.

Huntsville dropped its first match in conference play against 4A-1 rival Prairie Grove on Sept. 11 and suffered its second straight loss after losing on the road at Class 3A power Hackett on Sept. 9.

Despite two first half forays into Clinton territory featuring imaginative play-calling, Huntsville (0-2) couldn’t find the end zone and lost 42-0 in nonconference football action on the road Friday.

Huntsville recorded a big win over Gravette beating the Lady Lions, 3-2, on Sept. 4 after sweeping Green Forest, 25-8, 27-25 and 25-13 in 4A-1 Conference volleyball action on Sept. 2.

The Kingston boys (110) finished second to Huntsville (93) and Class 6A Rogers Heritage Junior Varsity (JV) was third at 123. at The Links in Bentonville on Sept. 3.
