Whether Huntsville School District administrators should be charged for not calling the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline after learning of sexual-abuse allegations has become a campaign issue in the Fourth Judicial District prosecuting attorney’s race.

Third District U.S. Rep. Steve Womack of Rogers told local leaders on Monday that federal assistance is available, but only if there is substantial “buy-in” by local stakeholders on projects ranging from housing to healthcare.

The Madison County Quorum Court on Monday approved an ordinance to use one-time federal money on equipment at Solid Waste, an upgrade of the courtroom and a backup Internet system for the jail dispatch.
