Huntsville won its first game, then dropped two games while competing in Neosho, Mo. boys basketball tournament over the holiday break.

Aggressive, physical play resulted in Kristyn Shinn Clark scoring goals and she’s proud to become the first soccer player entering the Madison County Athletic Hall of Fame. When she got the news that she had been selected for the class of 2026, it touched her.

In an impressive display, the Huntsville Lady Eagles dominated the court against the Green Forest Lady Tigers, sending the visitors home with a resounding holiday loss, 61 to 35 on Dec. 16. 

Huntsville secured  a 4A-1 Conference boys basketball victory in the league opener against Green Forest on Dec. 16.

Nichole Lingren, sister of James Lingren, who mans the 215 pound weight class for the boys, was the only other girl competing for the Eagles.

Huntsville’s girls basketball record remained even at 6-6 overall with a 61-35 win over Green Forest on Dec. 16, followed by a conference loss.

Huntsville split its games in boys basketball beating Green Forest, 60-46, on Dec, 16, then losing to Pea Ridge, 65-61, on Dec. 19.

Huntsville High School’s competitive cheer squad finished sixth in the all-girl  standings during the Class 4A State cheer competition held at Hot Springs on Friday.

Gentry defeated Huntsville 42-24 in a dual wrestling meet on  Dec. 16.

Huntsville first-year wrestling coach Matt Gibson heard about senior Keiley Poor’s potential from many different voices when he  arrived in Huntsville and it got his attention.

In a matchup that kept Huntsville fans happy from beginning to end, the Lady Eagles faced off against Green Forest, securing a 59-52 victory on the Lady Tigers’ home court.

In a thrilling matchup at the Green Forest Tournament, the Huntsville basketball team faced off against Omaha, but ultimately fell just short, losing 43-41 in a nail-biter that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

In a hard-fought battle on the hardwood, the Huntsville Lady Eagles faced off against the Berryville Lady Bobcats in the Green Forest Tournament, ultimately falling in overtime with a final score of 57 to 50 on Dec. 11.

In a commanding display, the Huntsville Eagles triumphed over the Kingston Yellowjackets with a decisive 68-38 victory at the Green Forest Tournament.

The wrestling season for Huntsville High School got underway Dec. 2 with the Eagles traveling to Subiaco Academy to compete with the host team and Green Forest.

The Lady Eagles soared to victory over Clarksville with a 57-26 win in girls basketball on Dec. 2, but were overwhelmed by Greenland, 70-41, on Dec. 5, before defeating Lead Hill, 70-49, on Dec. 6.

Huntsville secured convincing nonconference victories over Clarksville (63-42) on Dec. 2 and Greenland (71-42) on Dec. 5, but ran into foul trouble against Lead Hill on Dec. 6.

The Lady Eagles faced a challenging game against Siloam Springs in the Turkey Classic at Lincoln’s Wolfpack Arena, ultimately losing 55-31 on Nov. 24 in nonconference girls basketball action.

The Huntsville Eagles traveled to a difficult atmosphere in Valley Springs and snatched a tough 55 to 53 victory on Nov. 24 in nonconference boys basketball action.

Huntsville league play wrapped up Nov. 21, and The Pink Panthers were named tournament champions for lower division.
