Defending  state champion Pea Ridge looked like it hadn’t lost a beat while handing Huntsville consecutive run-rule losses of 16-0 on March 9 and 15-0 on March 10 in 4A-1 Conference softball action.

Huntsville High School’s baseball team began conference play with an 8-2 road loss at Pea Ridge on March 9, then hosted the Blackhawks on March 10 and lost 16-3 in the 4A-1’s new back-to-back home-and-away scheduling format.

Huntsville (0-4, 0-2 4A West) suffered a pair of 4A West Conference losses at Pea Ridge and at home to Gravette last week in girl’s soccer. 

Greenwood got goals from junior Bailey Thibodeau and sophomore Grant Fiala as the Class 5A Bulldogs improved to 2-0-1 with a 2-0 win over Huntsville in boys soccer. 

Greenwood recorded its third straight win by defeating the Lady Eagles, 6-0, in a non-conference girl’s soccer match on March 5.

A 5-run seventh inning broke the game open and Macie Ramsey finished a home run away from hitting for the cycle in Huntsville’s 12-2 non-conference softball win at Lincoln on March 3.

Huntsville split its non-conference baseball games against bigger schools last week, beating Siloam Springs, 9-7, on March 2, then losing to Harrison, 3-1, on March 5.

Huntsville High School Lady Eagles defeated Haas Hall Academy, 3-1, in a Feb. 24 scrimmage, then took on Mountain View in a 4-0 loss. That was the season-opener result Monday at Eagle Stadium.

The Huntsville girls softball team will depend upon sophomores and freshmen for pitching and underclassmen are expected to fill key positions as the Lady Eagles prepare for the 2026 season.

Second-year Huntsville High School Head Baseball Coach Dylan Hurt felt overwhelmed trying to juggle the responsibilities of managing the program last year, a factor he admits probably diminished his effectiveness as a coach.

Huntsville  finished out the regular season in boys basketball last week. The Eagles began their week with a disappointing 56-39 loss at home on Feb. 10 to the visiting Gravette Lions. 

Two Huntsville bowlers won All-State honors during the Class 4A State match on Feb. 12 at Fast Lanes in Rogers.

Huntsville High School senior Keiley Poor and junior Keggun Carson set a new standard for Huntsville wrestlers program as fourth place medalists at the state wrestling tournament, earning All-State honors last weekend.
