Loy Dean Martin, 78, of Huntsville, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. 

He was born Jan. 31, 1944, at Purdy to Carl William and Evaline Beasley Martin.

Dean was the father to four children. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Evaline Martin; one son, Jimmy O’Dell Martin; and two brothers, John Martin and Wayne Martin. 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Lenora Martin of Huntsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Mitch Griffin of Springdale and McKenzie Sales of Huntsville; four grandchildren, Lynise Yates, Curtis Martin, Sutton Griffin and Holden Griffin; and two great-grandchildren, Remington Yates and Kimberlee Yates.

Dean drove a truck for over 40 years retiring in 2007 from Cal-Maine Foods. He spent his retired years enjoying brush hogging, mowing and working around his place. He was a provider for his family, a father who loved his children, and a neighbor to be counted on. In November of this year, Dean gave his heart to the Lord when he found salvation.

The family will receive friends 5 p.m.-7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at Brashears Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022, at Brashears Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Phillips officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Curtis Martin, Sutton Griffin, Holden Griffin, Remington Yates, Kody White and Loy Whorton. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Doc Feagin, Phillip Morgan, Larry Sisco, Mike Simpson and Randall Whorton. 

Interment will immediately follow services at Big Sandy Cemetery. 

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
