Lois Irene Horine, 73, of Huntsville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2023, at Willard Walker Hospice, Fayetteville. 

She was born Monday, Dec. 12, 1949, in Purdy, to Coy and Opal Mae Phillips Smith.

Lois married Doyle Horine on Saturday, April 18, 1981, in Purdy, Ark., and together they were parents to two children. She worked as a Production Supervisor at Ducommun for 35 years, and enjoyed camping, fishing and beach vacations. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, especially watching their sports activities. Lois was a good friend to all those around her and anyone she met.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Coy and Opal Smith; and one brother, James Smith. 

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Horine, of the home; two daughters, Judy Leveridge, of Krum, Texas, and Teresa Rutledge of Elkins; three grandchildren, Austin Leveridge, Avery Leveridge and Emily and Dylan Phillips; one brother and sister-in-law, Dorsey and Nevelta Smith; and one sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Mike Dennis. Lois is also survived by two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Eulena and Larry Carpenter, Edie Smith, and Larry and Janice Horine.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Brashears Funeral Home. Chris Fryar officiated. 

Pallbearers were Marvin Smith, Darren Phillips, Bryan Carson, Brandon Morgan, Charles Holiday and Craig McCartney. 

Interment followed services at Alabam Cemetery. 

Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
