Joyce Jean (Calico) Hull, age 90, was born March 14, 1932, to Jewel Henry and Alice Edna (McLoud) Calico on the family farm about three miles southeast of Clifty, Ark.

Joyce passed away in her home Aug. 17, 2022.

Joyce had three younger siblings, Hope Darlene (Stephens) and Gladys Faith (Reynolds), and a brother, Jewel LeRoy, all of whom preceded her death. Besides her siblings, Joyce was preceded in death by her daughters-in-law, Geri Ann Ross Hull and Clinton Mel Pearce. Joyce also leaves behind countless relatives and friends.

After graduating high school at Huntsville in 1948, at the age of 16, she attended business college in nearby Fayetteville. Rather than have a business career, Joyce chose to marry and raise a family.

On Sept. 16, 1950, Joyce married Hershel Paul Hull of Eureka Springs, Ark. They were married 71 years and 11 months. To this union was born two children, Paul Stephen Hull of Oklahoma City, and Ratha Lynette (Hull) Lawler of Eureka Springs.

In addition to her husband and children, Joyce is survived by son-in-law, Don Lawler; three grandchildren, Jennifer Renee Lawler-Hill and husband, Justin Hill, of Eureka Springs, Hilary Paige Hull-Pearce of Moore, Okla., and Jason Paul Lawler of Eureka Springs. She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Mykael Brooke Pearce and Kayden Paul Pearce of Moore, Okla., and Makenzie Brooke and Makayla Emalyn of Eureka Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Carroll County Historical Society or the Madison County Historical Society.
