Johnny Lee Hawthorn, 84, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville. 

He was born Sunday, Jan. 30, 1938, in Kingston, to James S. and Dorpha F. Armer Hawthorn.

Johnny married Margie Esther Dick on Nov. 9, 1957, in Topeka, Kan., and together they were parents to five children. He was a talented brick mason and attended Marble United Baptist Church. Johnny enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his dogs. His family meant the world to him.

Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Hawthorn; his parents, James and Dorpha Hawthorn; one brother, Ray Hawthorn; and one sister, Ruth Baxter. 

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Bob and Teresa Hawthorne of Kingston, James and Leona Hawthorne of Stonewall, La., and Steven Hawthorne of Thornburg, Va.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kathy and Ray Clark of Green Forest and Dorothy Staton of Beebe; three brothers, Billy Joe Hawthorn, Bobby Don Hawthorn, and Roy Harold “Doc” Hawthorn; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Upper Campground Cemetery, Kingston. Don Hawthorn officiated. 

Pallbearers were Eddie Houghton, Greg Houghton, Johnny Hawthorne, Bradley Hawthorne, Stacy Staton and T.J. Hawthorne. 

Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Cain, Sam Smith, David Smith, Lawrence Bowen, Ronnie Deathridge, Danny Deathridge, Jerry Smith and Ray Clark. 

Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
