The Madison County Hall of Fame will honor great area athletes with ceremonies beginning Friday at the Activity Center in Huntsville. Two other induction ceremonies are set for later in the month in Kingston and St. Paul.

For the first time in decades, if not ever, the Huntsville School District will host a state tournament, officials learned last week. 

With a humble spirit and determined leadership, Huntsville High School Senior Kobe Ogden has a lot of skills. On the court, you can find him playing point guard for the Huntsville Eagles boys basketball team. In his free time, Ogden enjoys playing video games on his PlayStation 5. 

In the last week of December, the Huntsville Lady Eagles traveled north to play in the Neosho Holiday Classic.

Another hard night for the Huntsville Lady Eagles as they lost on the road to the Pea Ridge Lady Blackhawks 51 to 32.

The Huntsville Eagles boys’ basketball team is the 69th Annual Neosho Holiday Classic Runner-Up.

Huntsville High School senior Sawyer Owens has committed to play baseball for the Crowder College Roughriders.

The Huntsville High School Eagles bowling team continues to rack up experience on the lanes. The girls team beat the Siloam Springs Panthers on Dec. 19, by a score of 1,443 to 1,316.

Former Huntsville High School Eagle Kolton Reynolds has committed to play baseball for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Huntsville High School senior Isaac Reeves is friend-centered and goal-oriented. 

The Lady Lions pounced on the Lady Eagles early jumping out to a 25 to 10 first quarter lead.

On Dec. 9, the Huntsville Lady Eagles played the Berryville Lady Bobcats in the Anstaff 67th Annual Green Forest Holiday Tournament consolation game, winning 38-36.

The Grinch showed up at the Activity Center Friday night during halftime of the Huntsville Eagles’ girls and boys basketball game, unaware the building isn’t known as the Home of the Eagles for nothing.

The Huntsville Eagles bowling team notched its first win against Siloam Springs on Dec. 7, beating the Panthers by a total pins score of 1,589 to 1,562.

The Huntsville basketball teams had a full week of games.

Friday, the Lady Eagles played the Siloam Springs Lady Panthers losing a tough game 33-43.

After a seven-year hiatus, the Madison County Hall of Fame will once again honor some great area athletes with three ceremonies in January.
