Kingston’s extra trip to Quitman to complete the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet wasn’t in the school’s budget. First-year coach Patrick Drennan said community support helped offset the unplanned expenses of having to make two trips to the Class 1A-2A State Track and Field Meet — on May 6 at Gurdon and again on May 12 at Quitman after weather forced a postponement.
