As Christmas lights faded and the busyness of a new year began, Rope and Brittany Blisard of Huntsville had their world turned upside down.

A Huntsville man was sentenced to 20 years in state prison for shooting his ex-wife three times and shooting her husband in March 2021.

The Huntsville Lady Eagles on Saturday hosted the Tigers from Prairie Grove, losing 57-43 in 4A-1 Conference play. The game was postponed from earlier in the week due to inclement weather.

The Huntsville Eagles bounced back Saturday night to beat Prairie Grove 60-54 in overtime, 24 hours after falling to Berryville in the 4A-1 Conference.

An advocate for a nonprofit group looking to address the homeless population approached the Huntsville Planning Commission about possibly approving a variance so that housing pods could be sought and placed in the city.
