Wimbert Ray Grigg, 79, of Huntsville; died Saturday, June 6, 2020, in Huntsville.  

He was born Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1941, in Purdy, to Raymond and Dorothy DuVall Grigg.

Wimbert married Shirley Marie Mitchell on Friday, July 13, 1962, in Springdale.  Together, they were parents to two children.  He was a Backhoe Operator and a member of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church. 

Wimbert enjoyed restoring old cars and driving them in the local parades.  He always participated in the “Ugly ‘Woman’ Contest” which raised a lot of money for charities over the years.  

Wimbert loved going on trips with his family and “Fargo” to Branson and other locations.

Wimbert was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Lyndall Grigg and Jackie Grigg; one sister, Marlene James; and one sister-in-law, Mary Riley. 

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Brenda Grigg of Huntsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Keith Phillips of Huntsville; three grandchildren, Johnathan and Dixie Nelson, Dalton Grigg and Jasper Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Anna Whittle and Ruby Nelson; two brothers and four sisters-in-law, David and Denise Grigg, Jimmy and Rondi Grigg, Barbara Grigg and Janice Wallis; two sisters and four brothers-in-law, Chloretta and Ervil Skelton, Marilyn and Gary Bohannan, Geral James and Guy Riley; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 11, at the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church, with Eldon Bagwell, Jim Spurlock, David Watson and Roy Haffelder officiating.

Pallbearers will be Don Smith, Brent Gurley, Gary Ditmore, Dennis Waters, Bill Nelson and Mike Witt.  

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Huntsville Free Will Baptist Church.  

Interment will immediately follow services at Huntsville Cemetery.  

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
