William Solomon Strain, 84, of Springdale, died Monday, April 27, 2020, in Springdale. 

He was born Thursday, March 5, 1936, in Mountain Home, to George and Virgie Smith Strain.

Bill married Maggie Strain on Saturday, Aug. 13, 1960,  in Mountain Home, and together they were parents to five children. 

He was a member of Sonora Baptist Church and enjoyed bible study. Bill loved his family dearly. He enjoyed family cookouts, fishing, hunting, pitching horseshoes, playing dominoes and watching westerns on TV.  Bill also proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army.

Bill was predeceased by his parents; two sisters, Nellie Strain and Mae Willis; three brothers, Dean Strain, Harvey Strain and Rudolph Strain; one daughter, Nellie Kenworthy; one grandchild, Stacey Strain, and one great-grandchild, Britney Martin. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maggie Strain of the home; four children, Jimmy Dale Strain, William Strain Jr., Edna Martin and Diana Cole; 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at Friendship Cemetery with, Danny Williams officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Randy Cook, Billy Turnbough, Clarence Eiler, Anthony Stevens, Eddie Fawcett and Chris Hall. 

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
