Troy William Stroud, 98, of Huntsville, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, at Countryside Assisted Living, Huntsville. 

He was born Monday, April 14, 1924, in Huntsville, to Charles Bee “CB” and Effie Lucinda Casey Stroud.

Troy married Jimmie Bessie Hawkins on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1946, in Huntsville, and together they were parents to three children. 

He was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ, and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy in World War II. Troy enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents, “CB” and Effie Stroud; and two sisters, Erma Fowler and Estelle Bolinger. 

He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Stroud; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Gina Stroud, of Oklahoma City, and Jeff and Julie Stroud of Springdale; one daughter, Jennifer Stroud, of Nashville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, K.C. Stroud, Kristen McClendon, Erick Patrick, Lindsey Patrick-Wright and Jaclyn Stroud; and six great-grandchildren, Noah McClendon, Troy McClendon, Liam Patrick, Finn Patrick, Penelope Wesson and Jaxon Stroud.

Services were held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Brashears Funeral Home. Jeff Watson officiated. 

Pallbearers were grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Interment followed services at Huntsville Cemetery. 

Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
