Martha Kathryn Lewis, 97, of Huntsville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at Washington Regional Medical Center, Fayetteville. 

She was born Sunday, April 19, 1925, to Theron Everett and Hattie Maudie Mae Mason.

Martha married Leland Terral Lewis on Saturday, Aug. 1, 1942, and together they were parents to four daughters. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. Martha enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Lewis; her parents, Theron and Hattie Mason; and nine siblings, Vivian Pryor, Helen Mae McCollough, Melva Gabbard, Maxine Moppin, Leah Counts, Mary Ann Taylor, Betty Seamster, R.D. Mason and Vance Mason.

She is by survived four daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Larry Combs, Pamela and Ervin Phillips, Judy and Gary Phillips, and Lesha and Jim Baker, all of Huntsville; 11 grandchildren, Andrea and Brett Nall, Kelly and Thelma Phillips, Shawn and Rebecca Edens, Shane and Kaycee Edens, Jared and Dana Phillips, Chera and Devin Glenn, Aaron and Lisa Baker, Allyson Wilson, Nedra Pena, Brady Combs, and Jason and Janet Combs; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Jess McCall of Springdale; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at Alabam Cemetery with Larry Combs and Tim Gabbard officiating. 

Pallbearers were Kelly Phillips, Shawn Edens, Shane Edens, Jared Phillips, Aaron Baker, Brett Nall, Devin Glenn, Brady Combs, Jason Combs and Gene Smith.

Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
