Martha Faye Towry, 70, of Huntsville, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, at Willard Walker Hospice, Fayetteville. 

She was born Monday, Oct. 29, 1951, at Portales, N.M., to Bruce and Helen Tankersley Hargis.

Martie married Charles Towry on Aug. 6, 1977, in Huntsville, and together they were parents to two children. In addition to teaching for the Huntsville School District, she actively attended First Assembly of God in Huntsville, and had long attended Christian Life Cathedral in Fayetteville. It was Martie’s nature to give to others, and she was a prayer warrior who always put other people first. Her favorite pastime was shopping, and she was often found enjoying an iced tea.

Martie was preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Kaye Weinrich; her parents, Bruce and Helen Hargis; and three brothers, Tom Hargis, Bob Hargis and Mike Hargis.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Towry, of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Jr., and Tina Towry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and James Loftus and Leslie and Judson Holloway; one sister, Barbara Jean Phillips; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 28, 2022, at Brashears Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2022, at Christian Life Cathedral Chapel, 1285 Millsap Road, Fayetteville, AR 72703, with Steve Dixon officiating. 

Pallbearers will be Greg Brinkman, Paul Brinkman, Mark Towry, Ronnie Towry, Chad Weinrich and Judson Holloway. 

Interment will follow services at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. 

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
