Lucille Harper Phillips, born Feb. 16, 1920, in Huntsville, Ark., entered her heavenly home at 9:14 p.m. on June 9, 2022. She was a lifetime resident of Huntsville and touched many lives during her 102 years.

Lucille was the oldest living member of the Huntsville Presbyterian Church, which she faithfully attended until she was physically unable to attend.

Lucille served the community for 75 years as a member of the Huntsville Friendship Club. She attended many Razorback games with her sons, and if you were in Huntsville during a Razorback game, you could probably hear her cheering for the Hogs even at age 100. She was also a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Lucille loved flowers and birds, keeping her yard filled with beautiful blooms. Lucille also helped lovingly raise her grandson, MacKenzie, after the death of his mother, and was active in many of her grandchildren’s lives.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Phillips, whom she married on Jan. 9, 1937; her parents, Tom and Orpha Harper; siblings Joe Harper, Mary Lee Harper Mikus, and Cecil Harper, who was killed in WWII in the battle of Leyte; one son, Jerry “Bill” Phillips; and one beloved great-grandson, Jacob Phillips.

Lucille is survived by her sons James “Chic” Phillips of Huntsville, John and wife, Joyce Phillips, of Springdale; daughter-in-law Lou Phillips of Springdale; her grandchildren, James Mackenzie Phillips and wife, Jessica, Brian Phillips and wife, Cheryl, all of Huntsville, Jeff Phillips and wife, Misty, of Bella Vista, Jamie Lothian and husband, Paul, of Springdale, Sherry Melissa Hotary of Hot Springs, Sara Breathitt and husband, Pat, of Springdale, Richie Phillips and wife, Shani, of Springdale, Randy and Rick Elory of Springdale, Tina Doffin of Springdale, and Kendall Drake of Colcord, Okla.; great-grandchildren Hannah, Jett, Jaxie, Meagan, Madison, Kurt, Kasen and Kinley Phillips, Kayleigh, and Sydney Breathitt, Tyler Lothian, Jordyn Goddard, Colton and Josh Hotary, Ashli Stephens, Eden Doffin, and Jayden Cruze; and one great-great-grandchild, Millie Stephens.
