Loyd Dean Smith, 66, of Huntsville, died Friday, Oct. 9, 2020, in Springdale. 

He was born Friday, Aug. 6, 1954, in  Purdy, to Arval Loy and Mildred Joyce Davis Smith.

He was a logger. He enjoyed riding back roads on his four-wheeler and visiting with everyone, especially the “older folks.” Loyd had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and play practical jokes. He also built model cars, raced go-karts, played guitar, and had a guinea pig named “Buddy.”

Loyd was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Loy Smith, Lonnie Smith and Troy Smith. 

He is survived by his two brothers and sisters-in-law; his twin, Boyd and Cheryl Smith of Lowell, and Marty “Casey” and Mary Ruth Smith of Farmington, four sisters, Pearl Vazquez, Wilma Reynolds, Glenda Willis, all of Huntsville, and Mary Ruth Morin of Springdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2020, at Brashears Funeral Home with Rick Cope and Dwain Houston officiating. 

Pallbearers were Gilbert Morin, Pete Morin, Zachary Morin, Dakota Stacey, Dwayne Smith, and Rick Bohannan. 

Honorary pallbearers were Donald Smith, Dorsey Smith, Wally Fowler, Tony Vazquez, Donnie Kee, Troy Morin, Kevin Smith and Adrian King. 

Interment followed at Lower Campground Cemetery, Marble. 

Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
