Dr. Lonnie Calvin Roach, 69, of Huntsville, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at Countryside Assisted Living, Huntsville.  

He was born Friday, Aug. 3, 1951, in Brewster, Wash., to Nolan Calvin and Berta “Bertie” Lackey Roach.

Lonnie was father to two children. He was a teacher for many years in the Huntsville School District. He loved genealogy and was a major “Star Trek” fan, especially that of Leonard Nimoy as Mr. Spock. Lonnie was a man of great faith and a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ. Baptized at the age of 38, his motto was “My God is My Rock.”

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Cameron Roach and Rebecca Osburn of Pea Ridge; his daughter, Megan Roach of Huntsville; his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Steve Curlee of Roswell, Ga.;  five grandchildren, Kaylee Almaguer, Kylie Osburn, Kayden Osburn, Trenton Roach, and Kyndall Roach; one great-grandchild, Everest Ransier; niece and nephew, Melissa and John Harris and Jeremy and Gina Curlee; three great-nephews; and the mother of his children, Vickie McCoy.

Lonnie will lie in state from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home. 

Due to Covid-19, please practice social distancing and masks are required for entry. 

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2020, at Patrick Cemetery with Steve Curlee officiating.  

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Parsley, Mike Tillery, Curt Doege, Tommy McCollough, Steve Copinger, Mark Lukas, Charles Ziehr, Bill Epperson, Steve Harwood, Steve Stitt, Larry Combs, Cameron Roach, Jeremy Curlee and Jerry Moore.  

Interment will immediately follow services at Patrick Cemetery, Delaney. 

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
