Lloyd Mayes, 85, of Forum, Ark., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2021, at his home.
He was born April 15, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., to Charles and Norma Ruth Mayes.
The truest statement about Lloyd is that he wanted people to see Jesus in him. He was married to his wife, Sharon for 32 years and together they raised four children, teaching them family morals, kindness, and a strong work ethic. Later in life he enjoyed 12 years of marriage to the late Opal Mayes.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sharon Kay Mayes; and four sisters, Margaret Phillips, Barbara Prunty, Charlotte Garnet and Peggy Johnson.
He is survived by two sons, Mark and Mindy Mayes of St. Paul, Ark.,  and J.R and Denisa Mayes of Combs, Ark.; four daughters, Debbie Fleshman of Kansas City, Mo., Vickie Wiley of Kansas City, Mo.; Felicia and Don Smith of Forum, Ark., and Kimberly Marshall of Alabam,  Ark.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Connie King of Kansas City Mo.; four brothers, Roger and Risa Cleary of Kansas City, Mo., Charles Mayes of West Fork, Ark.,  Gordon Mayes of Huntsville Ark., and Ricky and Susan Mayes of Lincoln, Ark.; numerous nieces, nephews and church families.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at the St. Paul Full Gospel Church, Pastor Micky Evans officiated.
