Larry Douglas Hawkins, 71, of Huntsville died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at home.
He was born Thursday, March 3, 1949, in Prairie Grove to Johnny Dudley and Angie Edith Kisor Hawkins.
Larry married Diana Raye Grigg on Saturday, June 29, 1974, in St. Paul and together they were parents to two children. He was a farmer and an outdoorsman who found enjoyment in checking his cattle, working in the hay fields, fishing and hunting. Larry also dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working at Valley Fertilizer, where he loaded and delivered buggies, and had the opportunity to visit with fellow farmers and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Dwight Hawkins and Wayne Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Hawkins of the home; one son and daughter-in-law Douglas and Kaela Hawkins of Kingston; one daughter and son-in-law, Mechia and Byron Markley of Huntsville; four grandchildren, Rayce Markley and Alicen Markley, of Huntsville and Ty Hawkins and Brody Hawkins of Kingston; and two sisters, Barbara Johnston of Springdale and Kathy Shepherd of Mumford, Tenn.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at Parker-Boydston Cemetery, Kingston, with Coy Seigrist and Bo Bailey officiating.
Pallbearers were Rayce Markley, Byron Markley, Larry Byers, Jerry Lee Johnson, John Stansell and Steve Carlton.
Honorary pallbearers were Dale Grigg, Dennis Grigg, Carmen Carson, Donny Kee, Jacob Grigg, Sam Gallaher, Ty Hawkins, Brody Hawkins and Doyle Root.
Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
