Jerry Dean Daehn was born in Ripon, Wis., on June 17, 1946.  

After a short battle with cancer, he passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 25, 2020.  

Jerry married his wife, Marjorie Meyer, on Nov. 25, 1972.  The two were happily married for 47 years and have lived in Combs for the past 26 years.  

They have two children and four grandchildren: Nicholas and his wife, Deven, of Fayetteville, AR and their two children, Avery and Andrew, and William and his wife, Marie, of Peachtree City, Ga., and their two children, Talia and Caleb.  

Jerry was a graduate of Rosendale, Wis., High School, a veteran and sergeant of the United States Marine Corps, and attended the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh.  

Jerry had worked in both Wisconsin and Arkansas, and most recently retired from the Huntsville School District of Huntsville in 2012.  

He loved to be outdoors and travel, volunteered and maintained several area parks, and was a skilled wood craftsman.  

He was a devoted husband, father and “Poppy.”  

Jerry is survived also by two brothers and one sister, Larry of New Glarus, Wis., Homer and wife, Patricia, of Baraboo, Wis., and Katherine Giebel of Fond du Lac, Wis.  

He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur; mother, Lois; and a sister, Ellen Goeden.
