James Alvin Baker, 79, of Huntsville, died Thursday, July 16, 2020, in Fayetteville.  

He was born Sunday, July 6, 1941, in Big Flat, to John and Nina Eugena Lawrence Baker.

He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, J.R. Baker; one sister, Louise Rhodes; and one granddaughter, Angela Dawn Baker.  

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Baker of the home; three sons, Calvin Baker, Zach Alexander and William Alexander, all of Huntsville; two daughters, Margaret Elaine McGarrah of Witter, and Christina Ann Bates of Berryville;  11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 20, with Truman Bullard officiating.   

Interment immediately followed services at Marshall Cemetery.  

Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
