Hazel Virginia “Ginny” Watkins-Elsey, 93, of Lowell, formally of Madison County, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Fayetteville Health and Rehab. 

She was born May 22, 1926, in the Japton area of Madison County, to Theodore Watkins and Lucy Kilpatrick-Watkins. 

She attended Aurora Church of Christ.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Elsey; two brothers, Silvester Watkins and Dean Watkins; and sister, Wanda Miller. 

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Evelyn Richards and husband, Bill, of Lowell and Belva Barnett of Fayetteville; three sisters, Alma Boyd, Imogene Ogden and Martha Hollaway; brother, Carmen Watkins; four grandchildren, Debbie Moppin and husband, Jerry, Tammy Elsey, Tony Elsey and wife, Lahoma, and Sam Elsey; five great-grandchildren, Andrea Carter and husband, Bruce, Jennifer Bailey, Ericka Boivin and husband, Tyler, Coty Elsey and wife, Shelby, James Vickery and wife, Misty; six great-great-grandchildren, Alexia Daniel Bailey, Logan Bailey, Hunter Carter, Nevaeh Boivin, Dakota Elsey and Timber Elsey; and  a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. 

A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 29, at 2 p.m., with Pastor Jim Houchins officiating. 

Burial will be at McBroom Cemetery in Huntsville.

Funeral services are under the direction of Madison County Funeral Service of Huntsville. 

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tyler Boivin, Bruce Carter, Coty Elsey, Tony Elsey, Sam Elsey, Jerry Moppin and James Vickery.
