Carthel Dwayne English, 73, of Hindsville died Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Baptist Health Center, Little Rock.
He was born Sunday, Oct., 19, 1947, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to Carthel “Jack” and Freda Louise Goodwin English.
Dwayne married Sandi Piper Ramirez on Saturday, Dec., 28, 1991, in Gallatin, Tenn. He was a professional drummer and played for many well known performers. He worked with the Emcees in NW Arkansas, and then they toured Canada. He took Levon Helms’ place with Ronnie Hawkins, who ironically is from Madison County, as well as toured with Charlie Daniels, Mel Tillis, and Hank Williams Jr.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jackie Fred English.
He is survived by his wife, Sandi of the home; one son, Robert English of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Lea and Danny Wells of Skiatook, Okla.; one stepson and daughter-in-law Juston and Mandie Ramirez of Hindsville, and their two daughters, Brinsyn and Piper, and two stepdaughters, Audra and Michelle of Collinsville, Okla.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
