Alton Wayne Fonville was born June 5, 1930, in Seymour, Texas, to R. B. and Louetta Fonville and passed this life on June 4, 2020, lacking one day reaching the age of 90. 

Alton married Leta Chandler on Oct. 4, 1952, in Dallas, Texas.

He spent four years in the Air Force working on electronics of the B-36 Bomber. After discharge from the Air Force, he became a private pilot and enjoyed flying for the Civil Air Patrol.

After working 15 years in radio and television repair in Pecos, Texas, and Caribou, Maine, the family moved to the DFW metroplex where he taught electronics for 24 years. When he retired, they moved to the St. Paul/Pettigrew area where they were living at the time of his death. They were members of the Combs Church of Christ.

Alton was preceded in death by his parents R.B. and Louetta Fonville; his brothers Brantley, Herschel, Marcus, Jesse and James; and his sisters, Mildred McDaniel, Helen Cline and Inez Maher.

Alton is survived by his wife of 67 years, Leta Fonville; sister, Juanita Parker of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Aleta Tittle and husband, Larry, of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; sons and daughter-in-law, Alton Wayne Jr., and wife, Beth, of West Chester, Ohio, Jerry Lee and wife, Terri, of Hurst, Texas, Ronald Dale and wife, Carolyn, of Little Rock, Mark Douglas and wife, Kim, of Sherwood, Ark., and Earl Russell and wife, Karen, of Colleyville, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.  

Alton loved God first, his wife and family and dedicated his life to teaching Christian principles and encouraging faithfulness to God.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 8, at Brashears Funeral Home, with Larry Tittle officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Alton’s name may be made to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, Ark. 72762.  

Private interment followed at the Dutton Cemetery.  

 Services were entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
